Diane von Furstenberg’s team relied on separate dashboards for online and store orders. When a client booked an appointment, stylists needed to hunt down past purchases from two systems, cross reference sizes and check return records. Those extra steps added friction, delayed service and frustrated clients who expect a quick, personal experience.
DVF replaced their previous ecommerce provider with Shopify’s Online Store and switched to Shopify POS in retail. Implementation proved intuitive, letting staff login with minimal coaching. Almost instantly, each customer profile combined online carts, in-store receipts and custom notes in one view. Stylists could scroll through purchase history, preferences and VIP tags right from a handheld device, eliminating the need to flip between screens.
Shopify’s App Store offered Endear CRM, which DVF uses to deepen relationships beyond the boutique. Profile data syncs into Endear in real time, making it simple to segment by style, spend level or event attendance. The team sends SMS messages when sought-after dresses are back in stock, and schedules exclusive previews by email based on client interests.
Weekly reports generated in a single click help DVF identify top sellers and spot shifts in color or size demand. That insight guides window merchandising and restock priorities for both local warehouses and flagship inventory. Stylists also tag profiles with notes about upcoming weddings or dream wardrobe pieces, so follow-up outreach feels naturally timed.
Shopify POS let stylists roam freely around the showroom, offering personalized recommendations without being tied to a desktop terminal. Checkout speeds up since payments, discounts and gift options all live in one mobile interface. New staff pick up the process quickly: no steep learning curve or lengthy training manuals.
By centralizing data, DVF empowered staff to deliver a polished, client-first experience. Efficiency gains show up in faster service times, more accurate recommendations and higher satisfaction scores. Behind the scenes, leaders use real-time dashboards to make faster calls on product launches and event planning.
