He changed the page title from “Podcast Marketing Services” to “Podcast Marketing Coach” and crafted a new meta description in Yoast SEO that included his name and the target phrase. This update matched searcher intent—people looking for a coach, not an agency.
Instead of a bare list of links, Kieran revised about 500 words of copy to weave in “podcast marketing coach” three to four times. He avoided keyword stuffing by making the mentions fit smoothly into sentences that explain how he helps clients.
He noticed top-ranking competitors included an “About” overview and a “How I Can Help” breakdown. He lifted and tailored his bio from another page and used an AI assistant for smooth copy. Then he outlined three coaching stages to clearly show his process.
Kieran updated links from relevant blog posts to use the target phrase as anchor text. He also ensured his homepage featured a prominent link to the coaching page, directing more authority to it.
Less than 24 hours after these changes, the page jumped to position 12 on page 2. The next day, it landed at position 7 on page 1—no external backlinks required. While “podcast marketing coach” is a moderately competitive term, these simple updates proved just how fast search engines can respond when you match content, URLs, and titles to user intent.
Small tweaks—updating a URL, refining titles, adding a few sections, and tightening up links—can deliver big ranking gains. Targeting a focused long-tail keyword allowed Kieran to build momentum toward broader terms like “podcast coach.”
