By 2023, NEOM Wellbeing had outgrown their Magento store. Updates were slow, custom code was piling up, and the team could not tap into the latest commerce features. With a growing global audience and new retail hubs popping up across the UK, Europe and the US, they needed a platform that could keep pace.
NEOM’s first Shopify build in 2018 delivered strong UK growth, but a mix of off-the-shelf and bespoke solutions was no match for fast-changing customer needs. Online and in-store POS ran on different systems, making it hard to sync pricing, stock, promotions or loyalty data. Conversion rates slipped and custom updates took weeks, not hours.
In 2023 they migrated to Shopify’s latest version. Site speed improved at launch, and Shopify Sections let the team redesign pages without calling a developer. They enabled Shopify Subscriptions to drive repeat orders and rolled out Shopify POS in each Wellbeing Hub, syncing gift cards, promotions and the Neom Points loyalty program built on Loyalty Lion.
The impact was instant. Checkout conversion rose 34%, order volume jumped 10%, and finance teams could close books faster thanks to unified reporting. International sales in EU and US markets climbed after they enabled Shopify Markets to handle multiple languages and currencies. Store teams regained confidence that offline payments would work in challenging network spots.
With a scalable foundation in place, NEOM plans to add gift subscriptions, expand high-street presence and test Shopify Email and Magic AI tools for smarter campaigns and discount creation. Their focus stays on customer wellbeing while Shopify handles heavy lifting behind the scenes.
