Michael Xavier launched his blog in mid-2020 as a weekend project after watching a YouTube channel on earning money online. With no outside funding and working evenings, he aimed to stand out by offering truly detailed informational posts. Today his site draws over 390,000 sessions per month and brings in between $13,000 and $17,000 in ad revenue each month.
Instead of chasing branded keywords or broad terms, Michael picked a wide topic area so he could uncover hundreds of low-competition phrases that still drive meaningful traffic. He spends roughly one fifth of his time building and refining a keyword list. Often he’ll lock in for a few days, checking page one competitors, spotting gaps he can fill, and then mapping out which articles to tackle first.
Each month Michael publishes about 20 new articles averaging 1,400 words. At first he wrote every word himself, digging through forums, YouTube videos and user questions to find genuine solutions. He’s since brought on a few freelancers but holds onto most writing tasks himself to keep quality consistent. Sessions on his site stick around for an average of over 7 minutes, showing readers appreciate the depth rather than skim summaries.
In mid-2020 he had roughly 2,500 sessions a month. By mid-2021 that jumped to around 82,000, and in January 2022 the site saw nearly 400,000 sessions. Remarkably, Michael never paid for backlinks or ran guest posts—growth came purely from strong content and on-page SEO.
Since the blog is largely informational, Michael relies on ad networks for most revenue. He switched from AdSense to AdThrive once he passed 100,000 sessions. Affiliate links contribute about 5% of earnings, mainly through Amazon Associates. In December 2021 he hit $17,000 in total revenue and stayed in five figures each month.
Finding reliable freelance writers has been tricky—some high-paid contractors vanished mid-project. Michael recommends starting small when outsourcing and testing each writer before scaling up. He stresses that consistency matters more than chasing fast revenue. Stick to a schedule, focus on addressing real user questions, and the money will follow, even if it takes time.
