Mandaue Foam started in 1971 as a small foam producer in the Philippines. Over five decades, it grew into a chain of 28 home and garden outlets offering mattresses, couches and custom foam solutions. In 2018 the brand launched its first Shopify store to unify offline and online sales under one roof. The system ran smoothly until 2020, when demand surged during the pandemic and manual processes began to strain teams.
As online orders spiked, Mandaue Foamโs sales and operations staff found themselves glued to spreadsheets and chat apps, routing orders, applying discounts, and updating inventory by hand. Campaigns had to be kicked off in real time, often at odd hours. Mistakes popped up; price adjustments slipped through the cracks and fulfillment slowed. Leadership knew that the business couldnโt scale unless it cut back on repetitive tasks and freed people up for strategic work.
On partner advice, Mandaue Foam upgraded to Shopify Plus in 2020. They adoptedLaunchpadto schedule promotions, product drops and inventory updates in advance. Instead of manual price changes at midnight, teams built events that kicked off automatically. Real-time analytics in Launchpad made it obvious which campaigns landed and which needed tweaks.
Next, the team built a custom workflow inShopify Flowthat sent each new order to the nearest store with stock. That cut out the back-and-forth of checking warehouse levels and manually forwarding details. Once the trigger fired, store staff got a clear notification to pack and ship.
By automating promotions and fulfillment, Mandaue Foam saw online orders jump 222%. Year-over-year total sales grew 151% and repeat buyer rate climbed 16%. Teams no longer burned midnight oil to launch a flash sale or chase late-night orders. Instead they focused on customer messaging, inventory planning, and product design. And customers got faster responses, more reliable stock updates, and a smoother checkout.
