In May 2023, 20-year-old Dylan Rudzinski aimed to find a way to crack the dropshipping code. He pinpointed Amazon’s Movers & Shakers section to uncover hot items, then built a lean Shopify store using the Debut theme. With custom TikTok ads and an aggressive scaling playbook, he drove $805,785.67 in weekly revenue and netted over $300K in profit.
Dylan scanned Amazon’s Movers & Shakers, targeting items that held the top spots for at least two weeks. Using Helium 10, he verified the product had 250,000 monthly searches. He also spotted viral clips on TikTok showing enthusiastic user engagement. The final pick cost $8.80 from his supplier, had low competition, and was trending heavily on social channels.
He launched a branded Shopify store with Debut for smooth navigation. Key design rules: limit theme colors to one or two, avoid clutter, use GIFs in descriptions, and add a live inventory countdown timer. He offered 50–60% off launch pricing, bundled complementary add-ons on purchase, and sourced long-term stores’ imagery only when needed, otherwise AliExpress photos sufficed.
To validate profitability, Dylan spent $182 on TikTok ads over one day. He created five ad groups under a $100 CBO campaign, ran ACO on five unique video creatives, and tested three sets of ad copy. Early KPIs lagged, but by day’s end conversion rates improved. He doubled budgets into day two after confirming strong ROAS.
With solid ROAS, Dylan flipped on aggressive scaling. He compared spend to Return On Ad Spend, duplicated manual-bid ad groups, and tweaked bids by one cent to push CPA targets. He stayed vigilant for account suspensions, maintained two credit sources to avoid cashflow gaps, and paused underperforming bids daily. His approach pushed sales past $130K in a single day.
Over one week, the store grossed $805,785.67. He sold 26,674 main units at $8.80 each and 3,400 complementary products, totaling 31,163 orders. Total ad spend reached $227,424, and estimated profit topped $306,830.
A tightly focused approach—pinpoint high-demand products, keep store design clean, test quickly, and scale only proven winners—can yield massive returns in a short window. Working directly on creative production and staying agile with ad budgets were pivotal to Dylan’s success.
