In 2017, Doug and Ashley Waldbueser began threading simple bracelets with uplifting messages to help through tough times. Their designs struck a chord, and demand exploded. At first, they managed online orders on Wix and ran in-person sales on Square POS.
As orders rolled in from multiple pop-ups, online stores and wholesale accounts, tracking inventory across systems turned into a full-time job. Teams patched together Excel files, phone calls and third-party apps. Rewards programs were expensive to integrate. Every day had a fresh operational headache.
They needed a back office that could handle both ecommerce and point-of-sale in one roof. Migrating their website from Wix to Shopify let them tap a unified dashboard. Switching from Square to Shopify POS instantly tied online stock to store inventory. No more double-entry, no more lost sales.
With Shopify, transfers between 50+ locations take seconds. They automate replenishment alerts, so popular bracelets never go out of stock. And with roles and permissions built into Shopify POS, 450 team members get the right level of access. Store managers review sales performance right on the tablet.
After a successful rollout on Shopify, they tapped Shopify Capital for growth funds. That cash fueled new inventory buys and pop-up event rollouts. In 2022, they recorded more than a 700% uptick in total sales and crossed $14M in annual revenue.
Eighty percent of all revenue now comes from in-person sales. Launching a new location takes minutes: enable inventory at a new address and the tablet is live. Plans are in place to open up to 80 pop-ups in late 2023 and expand beyond North America next year.
With one platform handling every order, The Inspiration Company can focus on design, brand story and customer experience. Their Shopify tech stack scales effortlessly as they tap new markets and test creative bracelet lines, confident they won’t run into backend bottlenecks.
