Facebook remains one of the most powerful channels for content creators and affiliate marketers—but how do you tap into tens of millions of viewers without a budget? Mike Holp, founder of Digital Nomad Ventures, cracked the code by repurposing already-viral short videos. In a single 28-day period, he reached nearly 47.9 million users, drove over 25.6 million three-second video views, and grew his page following to 7,531—all organically.
Mike tracked performance in two windows. In week one (Feb 13–19, 2022): 3,041 page views, 754 new likes, and 4.99 million reached. Over 28 days (Feb 23–Mar 19, 2022), actions on page spiked by 732%, page views hit 21,873, likes climbed to 4,399, and reach exploded to 47,970,498.
Rather than creating original viral clips, Mike sourced videos already performing strongly on Instagram—like a warm classroom welcome or a man performing CPR on a monkey. He reposted them on his Facebook page with credit, testing different formats until one hit over 35 million impressions organically. That single win allowed him to unlock Facebook’s in-stream ad eligibility (600,000 monthly views) and reinvest in more viral clips.
Once 600,000 views per month was in the bag, Mike switched on in-stream ads and live-stream ad breaks. He explains how short mid-roll or pre-roll ads in one-minute videos generate passive revenue. He also added his website link in the profile’s “Contact Info” section, driving followers to a landing page and building an email list for affiliate promotions.
Beyond in-stream ads, Mike leverages his engaged audience to promote affiliate offers directly, run dropshipping pop-up stores using chatbots, and offer shout-outs. These tactics combined turn reach into real dollars without ad spend.
Creating truly viral content can be as simple as republishing trending clips—provided you always credit the source. Use performance dashboards to identify your next repost candidate, and keep your finger on the pulse of short-form trends across platforms.
Mike Holp’s case proves you don’t need an ad budget to crack Facebook’s organic code. By harvesting high-performing clips, optimizing for in-stream ads, and building an email funnel, any creator can accelerate reach and revenue.
